Qutang Gorge - the Most Gorgeous Yangtze River Gorge
Qutang Gorge (瞿塘峡) starts at the White Emperor City in the west, Chongqing Fengjie County and ends at Daxi Stream in the east, Chongqing Wushan County. It is the shortest in the Three Gorges, with only 8 kilometers.
Qutang Gorges is considered as the most dramatic and gorgeous one by many tourists, with the width of the river here reduced to 100-200 meters and the narrowest places no more than a few dozen meters.
A continuous line of peaks along the deep Qutang Gorges reaches as high as 1,000-1,500 meters, which makes a most magnificent picture. Much more picturesque, the turbulent waters of the rolling and roaring river flow through the rock gate that towers over the water.
