Return to the Three Gorges Night Performance

The mass-choreographed outdoor show called Return to the Three Gorges, directed by the world-famous film director Zhang Yimou, was debuted on Yangtze River in December of 2018.

Combining natural beauty of Yangtze River and modern technology, this new and brilliant show provides a unique demonstration of Chinese poetry and culture and travelers can feel the beauty of poetry through ten poems. Built on the section of Yangtze River near Qutang Gorge and White Emperor City, this floating performance area on the water is 160.8 meters long and 54 meters wide, while the floating audience area is 111.6 meters long and 34 meters wide and can host 1738 people. The whole performance lasts about 1 hour during 19:30~20:30.

Travelers who want to appreciate the beauty of Chinese poetry in the “Town of Poems” along Yangtze River, you can go with the upstream cruise sailing from Yichang to Chongqing including Victoria Cruises, Yangtze Gold 2 and Yangtze Gold 7.
