In Chongqing, there are three airports, including Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Chongqing Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport, and Chongqing Qianjiang Zhoubai Airport. Among them, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport is the most frequent used for travelers.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport
Jiangbei airport has over 70 airlines to 83 domestic cities and 37 international cities and regions. Travelers could take flights to/from Chongqing from/to Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, Guilin, Lhasa, Lijiang, Kunming, Hangzhou, Xiamen, Jiuzhaigou, Wuhan, Urumqi, Hong Kong, Macau etc. And, travelers could easily reach Southeast Asia, Europe and North America.

Transfer Tips: Jiangbei Airport is about 21 km northeast of Chongqing. Travelers from the airport to Chongqing center city could take a taxi, airport shuttle bus or line 3 of Chongqing Metro. A Taxi ride takes about 40 minutes and costs about 50 Yuan. As for the shuttle bus, its route from the airport to the downtown is: Airport - Palm Springs - Trade Building - Shangqingsi Temple - Coral Park - Shangqingsi Temple (passengers are only allowed to get off the bus along the way, and no boarding is allowed).

Recent news: from 06:00 on 29th August, 2017, the newly built Terminal 3 (T3) in Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is going to be put into formal use, and on the occasion, the Terminal 1 is going to be temporarily closed. From then, all international, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan flights and all domestic flights (except of Sichuan Airlines, West Air, China Express Airlines, and Spring Airlines continue to use the Terminal 2) would use the Terminal 3. At the appointed time, local rail transit, airport bus and coach, and taxi could take you to transfer between Terminal 3 and the downtown and even other places in and around Chongqing.

There are four main train stations in Chongqing, Chongqing North Railway Station, Chongqing West Railway Station, Chongqing Shapingba Railway Station and Chongqing Railway Station. While, Chongqing North Railway Station and Chongqing West Railway Station are the mostly used for travelers.

Chongqing North Railway Station

It is located in Yubei District in Chongqing. It is the main high speed railway connection to Chengdu and Suining. Also, high speed train connects Chongqing with Shanghai, Wuhan, Beijing, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Xiamen etc.

Chongqing West Railway Station

Situated in Shapingba District, this station is a little far away from the city downtown. At present, frequent high speed trains from Guilin, Xian, Chengdu, Guiyang, Kunming, etc. depart and reach at this station.

Chongqing to Wulong

Take long distance bus at Sigongli Transportation Hub. Buses are available from 07:00 am to 19:40 pm. It takes 2 hours from Chongqing Sigongli Station to Wulong County.

Chongqing to Dazu

There are many buses from Chongqing to Dazu. Travelers could take buses at Chenjiaping Bus Station, Chongqing Bus Station and Longtousi Bus Station. It takes less than 2 hours from Chongqing to Dazu County.

The base price for the first three kilometers is 8 Yuan, after which one pays 1.8 Yuan per kilometer. There is a 15% surcharge on taxi fares at night. It is recommended to have on hand the hotel name and address written in Chinese characters, because some taxi drivers do not understand English.

Chongqing has 4 lines that serve 92 stations. The system has a total track length of 168 km. Line 1 and Line 6 are heavy rail while Line 2 and Line 3 are monorail. The metro service starts operations around 6:30 am and runs until 11:30 pm.
Line 1: Xiaoshizi – Jiandingpo; 22 stations
Line 2: Jiaochangkou – Yudong; 25 stations
Line 3: Yudong – Jiangbei Airport; 39 stations
Line 6: Chayuan – Yuelai; 28 stations
