Ship Lift

I am travelling on the Victoria Sophie on the 12September 2017, is the shift lift closed at this time?
If yes, how does the ship travel through to Chongqing?

Hello Dennis,

Thank you for the question. The ship lift may be closed until the middle of October, but the detailed date is not known from the official notice. If you are going to cruise upstream from Yichang to Chongqing on September 12th, 2017, you would probably fail to experience the ship lift. And the itineraries of the Day 1 and Day 2 would have some changes for Victoria Sophia. On your embarkation day, you are required to meet at Yichang Three Gorges Center Cruise Terminal during 18:00 -21:00 and then be shuttled to Maoping Port to board the cruise ship. On the Day 2, after breakfast, you would go on the shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam to appreciate the great project for about 2.5 hours; in the afternoon, you could choose to visit the optional excursion site named Tribe of Three Gorges to savor the simple and primitive feature of local Tujia minority; at round 17:15, sail through the Xiling Gorge; during the late afternoon and night, you could feel relaxed to enjoy your dinner, join the Captain’s Welcome Party, and appreciate the show and movie before sleeping. The itineraries of Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5 would remain unchanged. However, the practical arrangement and time may be adjusted according to the practical situation. Even then, you still can enjoy a wonderful cruise trip along the Yangtze River.
