How to Get to & around Nanjing

Nanjing Airport & Flights

Nanjing Lukou International Airport is 35 km away from the city center. It has flights from/to Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Guilin, Xian, Lhasa, Xiamen, Guiyang, Kunming, Lijiang, Hohhot, Taiyuan and more domestic cities. The international flights connect Nanjing with Hong Kong, Macau, Seoul, Frankfurt, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Osaka and more international cities.

Transfer Tips: Travelers could either take airport shuttle or metro to transfer to the downtown area. There are two routes for shuttle buses, taking you to Zhonghua Gate, Nanjing South Railway Station, and Nanjing Railway Station etc. While by metro Line S1, you could reach Nanjing South Railway Station and could get off along the way.

There are two main train stations in Nanjing, Nanjing South Railway Station and Nanjing Railway Station. These two stations are used for high speed train stations. Travelers could take G trains or D trains to Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Hefei, Ningbo etc.

Nanjing Shanghai High Speed Trains

Every day, there are tens of G trains and D trains running from Nanjing to Shanghai. It departs from Nanjing Railway Station to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station and Shanghai Railway Station. It takes about 1.5 hours for a G train, and 2 hours for a D train.

The basic price for a taxi is 9 Yuan for the first 3 kilometers, and 2.4 Yuan per each km beyond 3 km. It charges for 2 Yuan for fuel surcharge. The best place to hail a taxi is near the train stations, Nanjing Airport, Scenic Spots, hotels and taxi stands.

Nanjing metro is very well connected airport with train station and bus stations. At present, there are three urban metro lines - Line 1, Line 2 and Line 10; and 2 suburban metro lines - Line S1 and Line S8.

Among the subway rails, Line S1 starts from Nanjing South Railway Station to Nanjing Lukou International Airport.
