Now our vacation is over again. It was a very nice three weeks in China, but it was also very tiring because of the heat. The trip with the Victoria Jenna was excellent. Everything was well organized, the care from the staff and tour guides, the cabin and the food were impeccable.

We are very positively impressed by China and its development.

Absolutely fantastic, can’t fault. On board food was awesome and me being vegetarian they even made me special meals each day. Staff were wonderful. I also had laundry done, no issues and very good price. Bar was well stocked and well priced. I also got a foot massage and my daughters hair washed and blow dried also value for money.

Concierge did only once on check in to offer an upgraded package for food and cabin. Then never asked again which was perfect.

Porters hired by ship in Chongqing tried to charge me 100rmb for their service but the English speaking concierge told them off very sternly.

Shore excisions included were awesome. I only did 1 optional which was the show on the second night which was absolutely amazing, it felt like I was in the show.

Only complaint is the ships announcements came into cabin speakers.

The cruise was wonderful and perfectly organized. The best things were:
- perfect organization,
- nice Amie, who made me feel welcome,
- very good food; there were enough healthy things for me f.e. salad, fruits, vegetables,
- cappuccino in the bar
- perfect organized (optional) tours

There are some things I would change if I were you:
- Cappuccino should be included and available for breakfast, I had to ask twice and then they brought it (for € 5, what is very expensive; the other days I went to the bar myself);
- my neighbours (cabin 408) were strong smokers and were smoking on the balcony all the time. The smoke came over to me (when the boat moves), so I couldnt sit on the balcony. Non-smoking should mean, that it is not for smokers. In Germany smoking is out and the people think very much about health. Moreover they were talking at 4.30 h, so I couldnt sleep anymore.
- the announcements in the cabin are annoying. I dont need it. The schedule is enough. I asked them to turn off the announcements and they did :-)

So, it was a wonderful experience and everything worked well.

Hello Wing,

We thoroughly enjoyed the Yangtze Cruise & the upgrade to Shangri-la suite was well worth the extra cost. The 3 Gorges Tribe visit was a highlight as were the visits to pandas, Wuhou Shrine & Renmin Park in Chengdu.

However, the 3 Gorges Dam visit was not enjoyable with guides screaming into microphones & in fact it is easier to see it from the road. The 10rmb to get ticket for golf cartride is only small amount & is during the tour so it should be included in the overall price.

Hi Zeva, Chongqing trip so far so good. Did 12000 steps of walking!

The cruise is very satisfactory. Tomorrow is the last tour.

Hotel at Yichang is good. Wanda is three doors away, with restaurants on 3rd floor.

The Victoria Jenna was great! The facilities were better than expected, the food was good and the staff were very friendly! We ended up upgrading our rooms when we boarded because the offer not too bad for a much bigger room. The itinerary I felt was a tad too much as we were expecting a more leisurely time; it felt like the cruise was trying too hard to fill every last minute with something to do (from 6:30am)!

In terms of excursions, the Three Kingdoms show was the best, the Shuanggui Hill was not worth it, we didn't bother joining the White Emperor City, the cruise through Gorges had nice views with good commentary, the Godess Stream was also below par, and the ship lift at the Three Gorges Dam was interesting, but not the short tour afterwards.

The so called "captain's farewell banquet" was really just dinner with the captain and crew saying a few words at the start. You should remove any references to dress codes because it wasn't necessary nor suitable.

Overall, it was worth doing it and we're glad we did it with Victoria cruises. The Jenna was refitted in 2018, which is one of the oldest to having a redecoration, so I'm wondering what the newer ones that got refitted in 2019 and 2020 would be like!

Hi Jack,

We loved it! We will definitely do it again if we go back to china. The book was lovely, the staff was great, scenery was gorgeous and we loved the entertainment. Wish it could have been longer.

The trip was excellent. Everything about it was wonderful. It was more luxurious than I had expected. The staff were excellent, so kind and helpful. They even cooked gluten free food for me and served me separately. There was so much to do that we were never bored and everything was perfectly organized.  

I would thoroughly recommend this trip to my friends.

The only problem we had (and this is not your fault) was that the taxi from our hotel to the dock dropped us a long way from pier 5 and we had to pay Y100 to the porter to have our bags carried.  Perhaps in the future you could explain exactly how to get to pier 5.

Could you please pass on our appreciation and thanks to Management and staff at Yangtze River Cruises?

My wife and myself have just completed a cruise from Chongqing to Yichang on 7/10/2019. We wish to say that the cruise was excellent. The land excursions were excellent and interesting.

With regard to the Victoria Jenna, the ship was clean, and ALL crew were very helpful, courteous and friendly and in our opinion did there jobs in an excellent manner.

We also enjoyed the food and the amenities on board.

A big thank you to YRC for the excellent way they handled our booking and the prompt attention to our inquiries along the way.

The Yangtze Cruise was one of the highlights of our trip to China and will always be remembered.

Keep up the good work, we will always, when the opportunity arises recommend YRC and the Victoria Jenna to any of our friends looking for a cruise on the beautiful Yangtze.

We loved the cruise. The staff was awesome. We felt very special. There was great service and wonderful food.  Steven was particularly helpful. We saw the doctor and he was knowledgeable and made us feel at ease when Dave was ill. The scenery was breathtaking.
