In a recent interview, renowned water conservancy expert and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Cao Chushen said that the vast number of water conservation and hydropower projects, such as the Three Gorges Project, are an important and beneficial complement to the environment, and that they can change and improve ecological environments.
