How to Transfer between Chongqing and Guilin: by Flights & Trains
How to get to Chongqing from Guilin and vice versa? Guilin is located about 600km southeast from Chongqing, which takes about 12 hours to transfer by car. They are well connected by trains and flights. Transfer by High-speed Train
Taking a high-speed train is highly recommended to transfer between Chongqing and Guilin, which takes 4 to 5.5 hours. There are 23 daily trains from 9:40 to 18:00, most departing from Guilin West Railway Station and arriving at Chongqing West Railway Station. Only a few trains leaving from 11:00 and 16:00 are from Guilin North Railway Station, and a few arrive at Chongqing North Railway Station, but these arrivals are less convenient, usually in the late afternoon or at night.
Train Booking Tips for Yangtze River Cruise Travelers:
Downtown Yangtze cruises FROM Chongqing can be boarded from 18:00 at Chaotianmen Dock, so you're suggested to book a train arriving in Chongqing BEFORE 16:30.
Upstream Yangtze cruises TO Chongqing arrive at 9:00 at Chaotianmen Dock, you're suggested to book a train departing from Chongqing AFTER 11:00.

If you travel to Chongqing by train to catch your Yangtze River cruise, you can check Transfer between Chongqing's railway stations and Chaotianmen Dock.
Transfer by Flight
You can also transfer between Guilin and Chongqing by getting on a flight, which takes about 1.5 hrs from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. However, there are only three flights per week, often departing at night.

Downtown Yangtze cruises FROM Chongqing can be boarded from 18:00 at Chaotianmen Dock, so you're suggested to book a flight arriving in Chongqing BEFORE 15:30.
